How well are you breathing? Why does it matter?

Breath is life. Subtle and some not so subtle changes in the way we breathe, whether due to
lung health or emotional state, have a significant impact on our bodies.
Breathing effectively is about wellness and self care. Breathing is your switch between a
stressed state and a calm relaxed state. It’s our core, our stability, our back health, our
pelvic floor health, sexual arousal facilitator, a pain modulator, a sinus clearer, reflux
reducer, essential in our exercise capacity and performance and vocal control. There is an
impact on anxiety, depression, PMS, fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue, Irritable bowel,
migraines, allergy responses and asthma control, just to name a few!
How well are you breathing?
I am a physiotherapist with more than 16 years working in respiratory care. I currently have
a private practise working with people with lung conditions and breathing pattern disorders.
