Our club in December 2021 purchased a mini donut trailer via Sunrise Donuts Limited and is running it as a Social Enterprise / Fundraising / Events / Promotion activity that can be used by other clubs and community groups.
This social enterprise experiment has exceeded our goals.
1: Evolve different Rotary Clubs - Rotary clubs Avon-Otakaro, Hornby, Lincoln and Otautahi.
2: Engage with new groups - Avebury House, University of Canterbury, Lincoln University, Burnside High School, South New Brighton, Ohoka Rugby Club, Christchurch Agricultural Show.
3: Encourage fundraising groups and individuals get get involved - Darfield High, Rovers, Battered Womens Trust, Christchurch Poultry Bantam and Pigeon Club, St Christophers Youth section, Christchurch Gymnasts, Rolleston RSA, Pilgrim Bandits, Canterbury Youth Services, 24-7 Youthwork, Pese Wairua, Zonta Club Christchurch South.
4: Enable Sunrise club members participation and fun - To date over half the club have helped on the trailer.
