Electricity in the NZ Energy Future

Shane has over 30 years working experience in the Electrical Power Transmission and Distribution industry. He currently works for Orion New Zealand Limited in the role of Network Strategy and Transformation Manager. The role is responsible for the development of our Infrastructure strategy, which includes understanding the interaction between customer, environment, engineering and emerging technology and the impact of this on our people and network.

He will discuss how NZ’s electrical and energy future is being transformed by four driving forces called the “four Ds” by the energy industry, fuel energy transformation: Decarbonization, Decentralization, Digitalization, and Democratization.
